Welcome to Week 6 of our weekly fantasy football “start em sit em” lineup article to help you with critical decisions on a week-to-week basis in the world of fantasy football. A number of key injuries and dud performances have thrown a wrench into a lot of our teams during Week 5, but all it takes are a few smart decisions in order to get your team back on top!
Each week, we will bring you a list of must starts, other starting plays and players we’re fading by each position. In addition, each week we will look back on the previous week to determine pick accuracy. The cutoff for hits/misses are as follows:
QB: 14 ½ points
RB & WR: 10 ½ points
TE: 8 ½ points
D/ST: 7 ½ points
All rankings are assuming ½ points per receptions and 4-point passing touchdowns. Good luck this year and make sure to follow us on Twitter in order to stay up-to-date through the season! Feel free to DM or @ us with any questions you have!

Fantasy Football Week 6 Start Em Sits Em: Quarterbacks
Must starts
- Josh Allen, Bills (at KC)
- Jalen Hurts, Eagles (vs. DAL)
- Kyler Murray, Cardinals (at SEA)
- Justin Herbert, Chargers (vs. DEN)
- Lamar Jackson, Ravens (at NYG)
- Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (vs. BUF)
Strong Starts
Joe Burrow, Bengals (at NO) – Burrow has been the definition of consistent so far, averaging slightly over 20 points per game and never straying too far from that number. I’ll continue to trust burrow as a reliable mid to low-end QB1 regardless of matchup, even if Tee Higgins is forced to miss this game.
Tom Brady, Buccaneers (at PIT) – The GOAT had a tough time in the first few weeks while missing his top weapons, but in Week 5 he had a huge bounceback week with everybody back. Against a weaker Steelers team with a struggling defense, roll out Tom without concerns in Week 6.
Geno Smith, Seahawks (vs. ARI) – Geno was written off by most people as one of the worst starting QBs coming into this year, but he has been a pleasant surprise in both fantasy and real football. Through 5 weeks, he is the QB6 in standard leagues. Against a bottom-5 Cardinals defense, expect another solid outing for Geno.
Sit ‘Em’s
Marcus Mariota, Falcons (vs. SF)
Matt Ryan, Colts (vs. JAC)
Carson Wentz, Commanders (at CHI)
Daniel Jones, Giants (vs. BAL)
Jacoby Brissett, Browns (vs. NE)
Fantasy Football Week 6 Start Em Sits Em: Running Backs
Must starts
- Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (at LAR)
- Austin Ekeler, Chargers (vs. DEN)
- Dalvin Cook, Vikings (at MIA)
- Saquon Barkley, Giants (vs. BAL)
- Jonathan Taylor, Colts (vs JAC)*
- Joe Mixon, Bengals (at NO)
- Aaron Jones, Packers (vs. NYJ)
- Nick Chubb, Browns (vs. NE)
- Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers (at PIT)
- Alvin Kamara, Saints (vs. CIN)
Strong Starts
Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots (at CLE) – When Mac Jones went down, we saw both RBs in New England see a huge uptick in touches – now, with Damien Harris out, the backfield is entirely in the possession of the second-year pro. With the volume he will receive in a fairly even matchup, Stevenson is a must-start in Week 6 regardless of format.
Breece Hall, Jets (at GB) – Hall has produced 5 weeks of consistent fantasy production, even while splitting the backfield with Michael Carter. He has started to outpace Carter in terms of usage, a trend that we expect to continue in the coming weeks. He had his big breakout game last week, taking 20 touches 197 yards with a touchdown to produces 26.7 fantasy points. Start Breece Hall everywhere you can moving forward.
Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks (vs. ARI) – As a huge Walker fan coming out of collage, I own him in every dynasty league and over half of my redraft leagues. He now has near total control of a backfield in a surprisingly efficient offence, and is a high-end RB2 for me at this moment. The 69-yards TD scamper showcased what he could do in the NFL lase week, and I’m expecting him to build off that strong performance.
Eno Benjamin, Cardinals (vs. SEA) – Eno and the Cardinals have not started the season how they expected, and without James Connor and Damien Williams to take touches, Eno should have a three-down workload this weak against a very average Seattle defense. If you were relying on James Connor as a starter, don’t hesitate in replacing him with Eno this week.
Jeff Wilson Jr, 49ers (at ATL) – Jeff Wilson has proven to be a productive back, just like literally any RB Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers play. Last week was the 4th time in a row Wilson posted a RB2 finish, every week that Elijah Mitchell has been out of the lineup. Against a weak Atlanta team with a bottom-half defense and unproductive offense, expect a positive game script and a lot of run for Jeff Wilson in the 2nd half.
Sit ‘Ems
James Robinson, Jags (at IND)
Tyler Allgeier, Falcons (vs. SF)
Antonio Gibson, Commanders (at CHI)
Michael Carter, Jets (at GB)
Ezekiel Elliot, Cowboys (at PHI)
Chase Edmonds, Dolphins (vs. MIN)
Fantasy Football Week 6 Start Em Sit Em: Wide Receivers
Must Starts
- Cooper Kupp, Rams (vs. CAR)
- Justin Jefferson, Vikings (at MIA)
- Stefon Diggs, Bills (at KC)
- Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals (at NO)
- A.J. Brown, Eagles (vs. DAL)
- Deebo Samuel, 49ers (at ATL)
- Mike Williams, Chargers (vs. DEN)
- Courtland Sutton, Broncos (at LAC)
- Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (at ARI)
- Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (vs. MIN)
- Jaylen Waddle, Dolphins (vs. MIN)
- Marquise Brown, Cardinals (at SEA)
- Michael Pittman Jr., Colts (vs. JAC)
- CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys (at PHI)
- Gabe Davis, Bills (at KC)
Strong Starts
Mike Evans, Buccaneers (at PIT) – Coming off a 1-game suspension, Tom Brady needed all the help he can get with a banged up receiving corps. Evans was able to step up and finish as the WR3 in Week 3, and followed that up with a solid outing in Week 4 against the Falcons. Expect another solid outing vs. the Steelers, but limited like last week due to game script.
DK Metcalf, Seahawks (vs. ARI) – Geno Smith and the Seahawks offense were written off this year, and anyone who invested into DK or Lockett late is reaping the rewards right now. DK has averaged over 16 points per game over the last three games, and I expect that production to continue against a bottom-5 Arizona defense.
Allen Lazard, Packers (vs. NYJ) – Lazard has had an incredibly strong start to the 2022 campaign as the WR1 for the Packers, averaging 14 points per game and never straying too far from that number. With the Packer’s offense unable to put teams away, their should be plenty of throwing opportunities against a weaker Jets D attached to a high-flying offense.
Tyler Lockett, Seattle (at ARI) – Lockett has quietly had an extremely productive season thus far with Geno Smith, averaging just under 14 fantasy points and doing so quite consistently. During the past three week he has received 30 targets, and if that target share continues he will continue to produce week over week. Roll out Lockett against a very suspect Arizona defense.
Romeo Doubs, Packers (vs. NYJ) – Doubs was just inches away from having another breakout fantasy performance in Week 2, but he couldn’t quite haul in his second touchdown pass late in the 4th quarter. In the past 3 weeks, Doubs has seen a target share of over 20%. Any time a receiver is seeing that kind of work from Aaron Rodgers, he’s at least a FLEX play for me. Even after his first tough week, I’m trusting Doubs to bounce back against a weaker Jets D.
Sit ‘ems:
Elijah Moore, Jets (vs. GB)
Chase Claypool, Steelers (vs. TB)
Drake London, Falcons (vs. SF)
Allen Robinson, Rams (vs. CAR)
Rashod Bateman, Ravens (at NYG)
Russel Gage, Bucs (at PIT)
Zay Jones, Jags (vs. IND)
Fantasy Football Week 6 Start Em Sit Em: Tight Ends
Must Starts
- Travis Kelce, Chiefs (vs. BUF)
- Mark Andrews, Ravens (at NYG)
- Dallas Goedert, Eagles (vs. DAL)
- George Kittle, 49ers (at ATL)
- Zach Ertz, Cardinals (at SEA)
- Tyler Higbee, Rams (vs. CAR)
Strong Starts:
Gerald Everett, Chargers (at CLE) – I’m still amazed that Everett was available in a majority of fantasy leagues to begin the season. The TE attached to Justin Herbert has produced consistently through 4 weeks, and more importantly has seen a consistent target share which is the best indicator of TE1s. Even following an off week in Week 5, the target volume and touchdown availability is still there, especially with Keenan Allen expected to miss another game.
Hayden Hurst, Bengals (at NO) – Hurst has had an incredibly efficient and consistent season thus far, averaging almost 13 fantasy points per game over the last two weeks and 11 targets. With Tee Higgins expected to miss this game, Hurst should see plenty of volume and be started wherever needed.
Sit ‘Ems:
Robert Tonyan, Packers (vs. NYJ)
Tyler Conklin, Jets (at GB)
Will Dissly, Seahawks (vs. ARI)
Cole Kmet, Bears (at WAS)
Evan Engram, JAC (at IND)
