Welcome to Week Two of “Tough Choices”, our weekly start/sit lineup article to help you with critical decisions on a week-to-week basis in the world of fantasy football. The first week is in the books an no matter if you won or lost, you should have a better idea about how your players should contribute.
Each week, we will bring you a list of must starts, other starting plays and players we’re fading by each position. In addition, each week we will look back on the previous week to determine pick accuracy. The cutoff for hits/misses are as follows:
QB: 14 ½ points
RB & WR: 9 ½ points
TE: 7 ½ points
D/ST: 7 ½ points
All rankings are assuming ½ points per receptions and 4-point passing touchdowns. Good luck this year and make sure to follow us on Twitter in order to stay up-to-date through the season!
Week 1 Hit Rates
QB: 66% (10/15)
RB: 71% (17/24)
WR: 69% (22/32)
TE: 80% (12/15)
D/ST: 50% (8/16)
Fantasy Football Week 2 Start/Sits: Quarterbacks
Must starts
- Justin Herbert, Chargers (at KC)
- Kyler Murray, Cardinals (at LV)
- Josh Allen, Bills (vs. TEN)
- Lamar Jackson, Ravens (vs. MIA)
- Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (vs. LAC)
- Russel Wilson, Denver (vs. HOU)
Strong Starts
Matthew Stafford, Rams (vs. ATL) – Stafford had a rough first week, but look for a bounce back game against a much weaker Falcons secondary
Trey Lance, 49ers (vs. SEA) – Trey had his first game as a full-time NFL starter in the middle of a monsoon and still didn’t perform terribly. Still aboard the Trey Lance train week 2
Joe Burrow, Bengals (at DAL) – Even with a lot of turnovers, Burrow was still able to turn in a very solid QB1 performance. Expect similar against a Dallas team with no Dak.
Carson Wentz, Commanders (at DET) – Wentz finished as the QB3 in week one, putting up nearly 32 points. Start Wentz in another strong matchup against Detroit.
Sit ‘Em’s
Mitch Trubisky, Steelers (vs. NE)
Mac Jones, Patriots (at PIT)
Daniel Jones, Giants (vs CAR)
Davis Mills, Texans (vs. HOU)
Marcus Mariota, Falcons (at LAR)
Fantasy Football Week 2 Start/Sits: Running Backs
Must starts
- Jonathan Taylor, Colts (at JAX)
- Christian McCaffrey, Panthers (at NYG)
- Derrick Henry, Titans (at BUF)
- Austin Ekeler, Chargers (vs. KC)
- Dalvin Cook, Vikings (at PHI)
- Joe Mixon, Bengals (at DAL)
- Aaron Jones, Packers (vs CHI)
- Antonio Gibson, Commanders (at DET)
- Nick Chubb, Browns (vs. NYJ)
- Javonte Willilams, Broncos (vs. HOU)
- D’Andre Swift, Lions (vs. WAS)
- Saquon Barkley, Giants (vs. CAR)
Strong Starts
Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers (at. NO) – We can expect Fournette to continue to get around 20 touches per game moving forward, which will safely have him as a start this week
Najee Harris, Steelers (vs. NE) – As long a Najee plays, he should see the volume to reach a safe RB2 floor without any touchdowns. Keep an eye on his health as the week progresses
Kareem Hunt, Browns (vs. NYJ) – Should be a very positive game script for Hunt and he should see a good amount of usage again. Floor will be there without touchdowns.
Miles Sanders, Eagles (vs. MIN) – 15 touches in Week 1 is a healthy amount and enough for a back with the talent of Sanders to produce enough fantasy points to start.
James Connor, Cardinals (vs. LV) – While I don’t love the matchup Connor will be getting all the redzone touches and a lot of passing work on one of the best NFL offenses.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Chiefs (vs. LAC) – CEH got a healthy amount of touches Week 1 after not playing most of the second half due to the score. He should have another productive week in what should be a shootout.
Sit ‘Ems
David Montgomery, Bears (at GB)
Rashaad Penny, Seahawks (at SF)
Damien Harris, Patriots (at PIT)
Breece Hall, Jets (vs. CLE)
Cam Akers, Rams (vs. ATL)
J.K. Dobbins, Ravens (vs. MIA)
Fantasy Football Week 2 Start/Sits: Wide Receivers
Must Starts
- Cooper Kupp, Rams (vs. ATL)
- Justin Jefferson, Vikings (at PHI)
- Stefon Diggs, Bills (vs. TEN)
- Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals (at DAL)
- A.J. Brown, Eagles (vs. MIN)
- Davante Adams, Raiders (vs. ARI)
- Deebo Samuel, 49ers (vs. SEA)
- Mike Evans, Buccaneers (at NO)
- Michael Pittman Jr., Colts (at JAX)
- Mike Williams, Chargers (at KC)
- Courtland Sutton, Broncos (vs. HOU)
- Jerry Jeudy, Broncos (vs. HOU)
- Diontae Johnson, Steelers (vs. NE)
- Tee Higgins, Bengals (at DAL)
- Tyreek Hill, Dolphins (at BAL)
- Marquise Brown, Cardinals (vs. KC)
Strong Starts
CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys (vs. CIN) – A bad Week 1 with Dak getting hurt will hurt Lamb’s stock, but he’s the best playmaker on this team. They will scheme around him with Cooper Rush at QB.
Gabe Davis, BUF (vs. TEN) – All the Gabe Davis fans were going wild after he scored the first touchdown of the season. As the second target on a great offense, I am comfortable starting him every week
Christian Kirk, Jaguars (vs. IND) – They went out and paid this man this offseason and saw it on full display in Week 1, with 6 catches for 112 yards. Expect him to have similar production.
Joshua Palmer, Chargers (vs. KC) – I’m taking a bit of a risk here but with no Keenan Allen, I want to start the second receiving option tied to Justin Herbert.
Brandon Cooks, Texans (at. DEN) – He was peppered with 12 targets Week one, and seems to still be the number one option in this offense.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Lions (vs. WAS) – Heavily targeted again in Week 1, Amon-Ra just seems to always get open. Strong start again vs. a weaker secondary
Sit ‘ems:
Kadarius Toney, Giants (vs. CAR)
Hunter Renfrow, Raiders (vs. ARI)
Tyler Lockett, Seahawks (at SF)
D.J. Chark, Lions (vs. WAS)
Robert Woods, Titans (at BUF)
Tyler Boyd, Bengals (at DAL)
Chris Olave, Saints (vs. TB)
Curtis Samuel, Commanders (at DET)
Fantasy Football Week 2 Start/Sits: Tight Ends
Must Starts
- Travis Kelce, Chiefs (vs. LAC)
- Kyle Pitts, Falcons (at LAR)
- Mark Andrews, Ravens (vs. MIA)
- Darren Waller, Raiders (vs. ARI)
- Pat Freiermuth, Steelers (vs. NE)
- Dalton Schultz, Cowboys (vs. CIN)
- T.J. Hockenson, Lions (vs. WAS)
- Dallas Goedert, Eagles (vs. MIN)
Strong Starts:
Robert Tonyan, Packers (vs. CHI) – It was great to see Tonyan back out and playing well in Week 1. Expect his snap share to continue to rise as he regains the TE1 role in a Packers offense needing playmakers
Gerald Everett, Chargers (vs. KC) – In what should be a high flying game without Keenan Allen, I will happily play Herbert’s Tight End
Sit ‘Ems:
Mike Gesicki, Dolphics (at BAL)
Hunter Henry, Patriots (at PIT)
Austin Hooper, Titans (at BUF)
Cole Kmet, Bears (at GB)
David Njoku, Browns (vs NYJ)
